A Pittsburgh favorite, these Ham BBQ Sandwiches bring tradition to the table with tender chipped ham smothered in a flavorful sauce. Whether made with Uncle Jammy’s BBQ Sauce or a rub-forward twist with River City Rub, these sandwiches are a nostalgic nod to classic comfort food with a bold, modern kick.

Ingredients
For the sauce:
1 cup Uncle Jammy’s BBQ Sauce (choose your favorite flavor)
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup diced bread-and-butter pickles
1/2 cup water
For the sandwiches:
1 lb Isaly’s chipped chopped ham (or any chipped ham)
6-8 soft hamburger rolls
Pickle slices (optional, for serving)
Preparation
Instructions:
Prepare the sauce:
In a medium saucepan, combine Uncle Jammy’s BBQ Sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, bread-and-butter pickles, and water. Stir well.
Simmer over medium-low heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Add the ham:
Stir the chipped ham into the sauce. Simmer for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the ham is heated through and fully coated with sauce.
Assemble sandwiches:
Spoon the ham mixture onto soft hamburger rolls. Add pickle slices if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy the messy, flavorful goodness!
